My Last Week CG Outing:- Aquarius

Last week, two groups from youth went on a CG outing at Aquarius KLCC .

Ticket Price for adult is RM28. Student but must have college card is RM20.

Lynn got a Petronas card to get us in at 10% off.

So that's pulling together resources to save $$$

The weird part is how come got Butterfly in Aquarius. Maybe because it is in an aquarium then it qualifies !!

Italian Outing with my family

Last week, my big family treated our 2 house helpers to a sumptious italian dinner. We decided to drop over to Bella Italia in SS2. One of my favourite joints. Just some fun facts:- I took siew peng out for dinner at this restaurant on 9th March 2003 and after dinner proposed to her. Lucky she accepted and 6 years on, thank God things are working on pretty Ok.

Anyway highlights from our dinner :-

Located behind the KFC in SS2 is this Restaurant

One signature dish - Where you have seafood pasta all cook in a hot foil. Serves for 2 people. Yummy !
Just ask for the foil dish. I can't pronounce italian

The mushroom soup - Home made is pretty good too.

My family loves to spend time bonding over dinner. We order a variety of stuff and share it

Yesterday 22nd September was my friend Wern b'day. Since we was at Lynn house. We had a great makan session followed by Nintendo-Wi and Saboteur....A cake cutting session and then more Saboteur

Wern my prayers is that you won't go crazy in the hospital and that you make a GREAT Doctor that will serve all mankind (Rich or Poor and no matter what the Race). Go for it pal !

Terk and me are making every CG member follow a fish theme. Meaning on that day lunch u must eat something fishy and also wear a fish related T-SHIRT.

Youth Camp Update 1#: HarvestHaven

This year Youth Camp will be held at Harvest haven from 20th December 2009 to 22nd December 2009.

It will be held at HarvestHaven in Gopeng, Perak . One of the best ever camp sites we managed to find

A 3 story mansion that fits 60 people built in a middle of a Oil Palm Estate. Surrounded by trees and moutain tops. Very peaceful

A super big soccerfield . with goal post liau. Anyone for 11 a side ?

Basketball court.

beautiful and clean swimming pool . Note max depth is at 4 feet

Makan time !!! Great food rated by our very own gang. Say very nice

Need a nap ? Our panel say the beds are clean. toilet also clean and has hot water.

Note the bed can be a bit creaky though

Alpha Course in USJ 1 Saturday

The Alpha course is a course on the basics of the Christian faith, described as "an opportunity to explore the meaning of life,"^[1] currently running in churches, homes, workplaces, prisons, universities and a wide variety of other locations. It is run through out Malaysia and the world

Basically our church in USJ 1 Subang does it in an informal manner where there is an Alpha Dinner where we invite members and guests to come over for "makan".

We then proceed with a short video course and also have a short discussion. In all the meetings last 2 hours where the environment we try to keep it as casual as possible.

Last week Alpha had Susan and her daughter Francine talk about how she came for alpha 2 years ago and the impact on their families.

In 64 AD , Emperor Nero held Christian responsible for a fire in Rome. Christians were rounded up, slain and some put into arenas where lions attacked them..

The times have changed , the method too has evolved but persecution still exist to this day.

This saturday we will be going to hear a talk by Open Doors . It will be held at Grace EFC near our church . It is from 4:30 to 6:45 pm.

Ok there are some party games like saboteur which i am interested but have not bought .

My basic definition of party game that it must have at least 6 people who can play at the same time and that it does not need a long setup time . More importantly it is easy to understand and learn

Here it goes

CORE Retreat 2009- Photos

This year CORE Retreat was at Gopeng Harvest Haven. It was a double purpose trip. besides meeting up to talk about the youth ministry . We managed to check out the Youth Camp Site for this year camp on 20 Dec- 22 Dec

The super clean and quite big bungalow is where we stayed

A super big field surrounds the camp site. And a super big rubber plantation surrounds the super big field

Some Great makan time.. So far the food we must say is good and the only negative maybe is the beds that were a bit creaky but overall Excellent

Greetings from Ipoh EFC

This weekend is another weekend away from PJ. Away from family and friends. Thankfully I have a long time friend called Zu Dian who worships in Ipoh EFC. The funny thing is that Zu Dian used to attend my church in KL and now when I am in Ipoh I attend her church.

As you can see the worship time starts at 10:00 am and finishes at 11:30 am. Good eh ? yah very conveniet for those who wake up late or got family.

So far from the 2-3 times i there not bad the service start punctually and end punctually.

I particularly like the preaching by Ps Simon. The church size is around 20 . Despite the seemingly small numbers pastor simon preaches really well very structured and focussed and practical.

Not to mention the hospitality is great too. Thanks zu dian for the great makan too

Special Event: Open Doors Seminar 12 September 2009

Youth Connection is having a special joint venture programme with Grace EFC on the 12th of September Saturday 4:30 to 6:45 pm.

For Transport Meet at USJ 1 church at 4:00 pm.

Grace EFC is located @ 17, Jalan USJ1/4B, Subang (Opposite SJK (c) Chee Wen).

The purpose of the event is to experience something of what the Persecuted Church (PC) faces everyday in the area of forgiving those who have hurt them.

The programme promises to be both engaging and interactive. One that will touch the heart.

A sample of one of the testimonies that we will share is as follows

In the year 2005, during the month of Ramadan, four schoolgirls were on their way to school. Theresia Morangki (15), Alfita Poliwo (17), Yarni Sambue (15) and Noviana Malewa, had used this road countless time to go to school. As they were walking along the way, a group of masked men ambushed and attacked them. Theresia, Alfita and Yarni were murdered but Noviana survived the attacked, leaving a big scar on her face.

A Journey of Forgiveness is the testimonies from Nice Lingkeka (Alfita’s mother), Rita Rongkombulu (Yarni’s mother) and Noviana herself. It tells the stories of their struggles to forgive the murderers of their daughters and friend. They share their heart out of what it means to ’Walk in Forgiveness, Walk in Freedom’.

Youth Camp 2009

One good thing leads to another. The church camp just ended .... Youth Camp 2009 preparation is just begun. It's going to be held on the 20th to 22nd December 2009. The venue is HarvestHaven at Gopeng. About 100 minutes drive from KL.

Run by some really nice Christian leaders very clean and new place. Heard they got the place all by love offering not bad at all !!!

I personally stayed there a few times. Awesome place . Big bungalow, swimming pool, soccer field

Good news Look for..... some super affordable rates. Will be out soon

The CORE team will be up there on the 5th - 6th September to look at the venue and accomodation.

Saboteur: My latest game

Ok everyone knows that i love collecting board games and card games. all sorts to the marathorn ones to the party types (e.g. great dalmulti)

I bought a new card game called saboteur. Its a simple party game where 3-10 people can play. Basically players are randomly assign a role of either dwarf or saboteur. This is secret from each other.

Dwarf is to built a path to GOLD ! and saboteur is to stop them ! The fun part is trying to find out based on each others move is "Who is on whose side". Totally whacky

My friends hui chuan and terk came over just now to play. Not bad we finished 3 games in 40 minutes and are pretty satisfied. Terk took my deck maybe he will bring it on sunday.

P.s Can anyone explain why short people are obsessed with bling bling nuggets ?
